david.c Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 Be fair guys...........how many of us had our dream car as our 1st motor? Mine was an 850 Mini............with a Peco exhaust David Quote
neilwillis Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 An 850 mini van with a straight through oil pump, and no peco exhaust, and either matt finish battle ship grey custom paint job, or it was in grey primer! But even that had street cred! Quote
Coxy Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 I agree with the two comments above, we all have to start somewhere. But why do some people feel the need to take a 'normal' car and stick bits of old tuperware all over it and replace the exhaust with a section of drainpipe? I always preferred cars that were quick(ish) but didnt necessarily look or sound it (Westy not included obviously ) And on this sort of theme, does anybody else wonder why some people spend £20k or £30k doing up a citroen Saxo or Pug 306? Why dont they spend that sort of cash on a decent car in the first place? Having said all that I think I should be ignored. I have recently spent my money on a car with only two seats, no windows or roof or boot worth mentioning. It is built with many mechanicals from old Ford Sierra and Cortinas with body work made of plastic. I sit with my a**e inches from the road with the wind whistling round my ears. And boy do I love it!! It take all sorts to make a world, if we all had the same taste in cars it would be very boring. I say we should all enjoy what we have and make the most of in before this big brother government imposes a blanket 20 mph speed limit with speed cameras every 50 metres. Quote
