darthurs Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I have searched and can't find anything. Can anyone confirm where the engine number is on a Pinto? I need to change it over on the log book and I am not a hundred percent sure. Or can anyone point me in the right direction of the format of the number? Thanks is advance. Dan Quote
Black Shadow Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Dan, Look under the Exhaust manifold, there is a raised flat surface midway between the outlets and the sump. You should see a raised part number below this flat surface. Do a search for "Engine number on a pinto" and you should find I thread I started for the exact same problem. Heres the link pinto engine link If you can't find drop me mail or PM and send you some pics but if you find my thread you should find a pic there. Hope it help. Nigel Quote
darthurs Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 Think I have just found the post Engine number on a pinto. So the engine number that needs to go on the log book is the number on the flat plate above the "HM6015BA" number? Thanks Dan Quote
Black Shadow Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Dan, The engine number is the number that you can barely read...... NOT the HM number, thats a part number for the block. Don't be suprised if it's vitual imposible to read, if you can't read it try putting some white paint over it and then rub it down with some wet and dry and it should make it easier to read..... if your lucky, I could hardly read mine at all. Good luck Quote
