With all the news on TV lately about the extreme weather conditions affecting the East Coast of the US, the mud slides in the Middle East and South America, along with the dire predictions made by such films as The Day After Tomorrow, we shouldn't forget that England has its share of devastating weather too.

I've attached a link to a photo illustrating the damage caused to a friend's home from the storm that passed through Southern England last night. It really makes you cherish what you have, and reminds us not to take things for granted...  (I hope the link works, I can see it but then it's on my file ??? )

That is surely a reflective picture for us all in Midlands and North to think on how fortunate we are not to have suffered the devasting weather in the SE

Insurance premiums on the way up again then? :(

It wasn't as if it wasn't forecast, they really should have taken more precautions. No sympathy from here.

I've been too traumatised to post about the problems we've had with the weather. Two of our patio chairs have been blown over, and the BBQ is full of water.

The effect on wildlife has been devastating too, even as far North as the midlands we have had several leaves blown clean off some nearby trees!

Many people were reported to have suffered depression and sleepless nights  -  cheap Chinese windchimes were held responsible
