Leon B Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 Just driving through my local village at what I thought was a reasonable speed (wasn't actually looking at the speed) when the old bill pop up behind, flash the lights a sound the siren. Copper pulls up along side me and says: "Dont go speeding through the town, use the roads..........errrrr... I mean the open roads......ummmmm.... the country roads" After recieving instructions it was ok to speed through the country lanes, I took his advice and gave my passenger a good old scare. Quote
Nick.Petty Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 Next they'll be telling us it would be rude not to have a little bit of sideways action on the roundabouts ... Opposite lock sir.......... suits you. OOOH SUITS YOU SIR... Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Something like that happened to me to. Driving home from work through an empty industrial est one Saturday afternoon. All was dead on the est. so I thought it would be ok to give it a little. Oh f**k stood round the corner was PC Plod. Pull in sunny after the normal how fast were you going and do you know the speed limit sir he asked me to produce my documents at the station. On parting company with said policeman he told me to drive carefully and if I had a car like that I would put my foot down as well but I did not say that sir Needless to say I now keep to the limits in the towns Quote

Ian Gratton Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Been pulled twice in the XTR4 in less than a week LOL. Once by traffic cops on the M1 North and again by local Derbyshire bobbies - Both just wanted a look round the car and on both stops I had very interesting conversations regarding speed cameras and the lack of driver edjucation in this country. I was told to 'give it a bit' by the Derby bobbies when I set off - I just short shifted up the box which is more than enough for the roads Quote
S8ight Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 was out with Bollockybill club night, he got pulled by plod because "you where about to speed" was amusing watching someone call a copper a f###ing p###k the coppers face was priceless, must of been his first time out in a car on his own Quote
Crash Override Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 I shouldn't say this really so no names mentioned, I had a copper sat next to me at 110 with a big smile on his face. Edited to say he was sat in the passenger seat not along side in plod car. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Couple of cars were stopped at Stafford services along comes Mr Plod in his 24v Senator He's well into cars, ask loads of Q's about Westfields and where we're off to - then explains that on country lanes he'd never keep up - asks when we pass him on motorway, we can give a blast - which was duly done Great expression on everyones face tailing behind him at 65mph Filling up with petrol at local station - Mr plod does a U turn in the middle of road and comes hairing straight into garage asking loads of Q's cos he's building a Vindicator Got stopped for speeding, whilst on way to club meet and told off - cos they couldn't keep a fix on me long enough through bends and islands - after he's done his official stuff he switches "off" and starts asking about the cars Most plods are fine and traffic guys are usually well enthusiastic about cars - they just don't like stupid or dangerous driving which is understood Quote
Westy1700 Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 On a similar desserted high street one sunday afternoon....whilst sideways on Q. S'cuse me sir do we think we are at Silverstone ? A. Sorry officer No. These roads are too bumpy to be confused with Silverstone - its usually much quicker on a circuit.. ps. apologies for bring the clan into disrepute - they've chased me twice and never caught me ....
