deadscoob Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Is that John Nobles? They'll do a good jjob - at the moment tho, car is so low reckon it'd just get beached Would like to reiterate what Ian has said - the factory have done a lovely job on this - black is certainly a pita to keep clean though! Differences between this and the car that's been in the press: gearbox - press slated as difficult and vague - this is fantastic - not a particularly short throw, but very easy to use, very accurate, nice mechanical action - absolute doddle. V good. brakes - not even close to the orange cars - plenty of feel, good biting point. It's lighter than the original press car, so would be interesting to see what they made of it now with the 2 major issues sorted - reckon they'd absolutely love it now. So a big thumbs up to the factory - they've really come up trumps for us Also, big thanks to Simon - he selflessly commissioned a bespoke coolant filling adaptor for me, so Cheers Simon Quote
Ian Gratton Posted June 28, 2004 Author Posted June 28, 2004 Totally agree Craig. I'm thinking EVO and the other motoring press bandits should give the car a 2nd chance. Just from our own experiences of driving the orange '4 and our car there is really no comparison. You no longer need to 'think' its time to change gear because the new box just snicks in perfectly. Oh... Got a nod from a chap in a Lambo Gallardo yesterday evening Shame we weren't stationary - would have made a great photo - plus I could have asked for a ride in return for a ride in ours. A friend of a friend recently sold his black Gallardo before I got a ride - how selfish is that ? Today I am suffering from a massive migrane headache - this is the first time I've been able to open my eyes but the pain is coming back now Quote
Mark Purves Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Ian , Very Nice If you fancy a run to put some miles on it how about coming to the Chelt&Glos BBQ this Saturday the 3rd July. Details within the events section of boardroom. Hopefully 40 plus Westy's will be there. Quote
adhawkins Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 If he does, I don't think he'll have much time for food...he'll be too busy giving passenger rides Andy Quote
Mark Purves Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Could charge and recoupe some of the cost though. Quote
Mark Purves Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 Andy, I think there may be a few people giving rides in their car Saturday eve as well as Sunday morning. Quote
JonnyBoy Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 RIGHT...turn right... right leads to 'happy ever after' although i'm sure any direction in that motor leads to that same destination! Quote
