Mark Stanton Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 If anyone out there gets an e-mail from andywelchracing@aol.com with an attachement - don't open it Just delete it Yet again its another bl**** virus I used to not post names when I received them - but am getting so peeved that folks just aren't using an up to date virus scanner and I just don't want to see these poxy things spread Just wish those nunneys that write them had time to do something more useful Quote
ACW Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 Also be aware that most of the latest viruses, eg Klez etc.. use a MS vunrability to spoof the from address. This means an infected machine will send out emails with the from address set to names in the address book. This means people could appear to get a virus email from you but in fact it is someone you know sending them with the from address spoofed to your email address. First you know is you get emails saying you sent a virus or NDRs even though you are in fact clean... Be carefull opening Non-Delivery Reports (NDRs) in such curcumstances as the orignal virus payload attachment may also be on the NDR. HTH, ACW. Quote
