Rab (bombero) Reid Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Following on from my recent post about considering new wheels, I really like the Minilites however, should I go with genuine or consider one of the replicas from the likes of JBW and Toybox. Does anyone have a particulary strong opinion or experience with the different makes? My car is fast road use only. Thanks in advance! Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Love a minilite. Just had mine refurbished. Not genuine, I'm sure they would be extortionately priced. Lots of replicas to choose from. 1 Quote
Captain Colonial Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago JBWs: Had them for years, very happy with them, no real need to buy the genuine ones. Mine came with the correct lug nuts as well, which is important. Did have a faff with the front because the wheel studs were too short, nuts only tightening by three turns, so had to get next size up longer ones from Burton Power… which ended being too long! So had to get 5mm spacer plates. 2 Quote
Captain Colonial Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Also @Rab (bombero) Reid JBW are a short drive from Stoneleigh. You could order them and pick them up that Saturday morning… 1 Quote
Howard Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I do like the look of Minilites. When I first built my car I fitted 7J x 15 Minilites from Performance Superlite. They are Australian but were stocked in the UK. Looked very nice but Lite they were not! They were astronomically heavy to the point that I'd rather not say because you'll think I'm making it up or misremembering. The OZ Superleggeras I replaced them with (same size) were about half the weight. Other brands of Minilite may be better in that respect so do consider carefully - as you are doing 2 Quote
Captain Colonial Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago If you’re looking at gold ones, JBWs only offer them on 15” wheels. 1 Quote
RickRack Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I love the mini-lites & found the following at Demon Tweeks fitted with Uniroyal Rainsport’s - had a great price and discounted but that was 3 yrs ago - mine are anthracite spokes with silver polished rims. 2 Quote
Naranja_Al Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I picked up a pair of Compomotive Minities on eBay as my road / wet track wheels. I love the look of them on the car. 4 Quote
Steve G. Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I've got Compomotive ones on another car and they are nice wheels, trouble is I don't think they are available any more. I think Revolution do something now but I would consider how easily a replacement would be available if one got damaged. https://revolutionwheels.com/product/rvc920l4s100634sao/ This is a 7 but they do an 8 wide. I should not have gone looking ! Quote

Sorry for the hijack, but this is a stunning picture mate, 100% calendar-worth I'm gonna use it as my wallpaper actually if you don't mind 1 Quote
