MOT Testing

Hi all, I’m looking for suggestions for a Westy friendly MoT tester in Aidrie /Coatbridge area. It’s that time of year, and it’s the first time I’ve put mine through the process. TIA.

No specific recommendations, but I’ve always found that the small independent places are more likely to be Westfield friendly. Even more so if they know you face from MOT’ing your other cars…

I was thinking this too. Good to know the thinking is valid

Q plates have an easier time at MOT's. No emissions test required, just visible smoke.

Is yours a Q or age related?

Was on an age related plate (2013),  now on a personal plate, so not a q plate either way.

I take mine to my local garage in Crossford; he does my cars but he doesn't give them any leniency.  

 

To be honest I'd take it to an independent local to you that you have or can build up some sort of relationship with.

I've lost my usual MOT tester. I'm now booked into another local independent tomorrow at 0900. Very nervous haha. I did take the family bus a little while back though to try and start building a regular MOT test relationship. 

I'm also testing the water before me old man books his Locost in at the same place. 

 

I've a new Cat, new lambda, reset valve gaps and new plugs, since the last test.  Fingers crossed for a pass.

Plus 1 for finding a small garage. Even is it’s out of your way. I found calling round some of the local “classic car repair type” businesses in the area will have a good understanding of who to go to if they don’t offer it them selves.
