Benrobson2999 - Kent AO Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I have googled this and had mixed reviews and techniques. Any personal experience of what to safely use on the gel coat to remove sealant under the windscreen on the scuttle panel? Quote
KevanP Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I've used isopropyl alcohol on mine when I removed the white mastic stuff someone used to glue the vinyl covers that fit over the side as you get in. It took loads of rubbing and scraping with a soft plastic scraper, but got there in the end. Didn't damage the paint either. No idea of it will soften up silicone though??? 1 Quote
Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago WD40 works well. If you can get it on a cloth and let it soak for a few minutes, then use a soft plastic scraper of some description (or a thumb nail) it should come off easily enough. 1 Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Try turps, or WD40. Turps on a rag and use your thumb nail to rub it off. Quote
