Popular Post Richard.C Posted Friday at 16:06 Popular Post Posted Friday at 16:06 I just wanted to say hi, I have re-joined the club after being away for probably over 25 years. The good news is I still own my Westfield SE that I purchased 36 years ago, the bad news is it's been stood in a garage for around 23 years so is now in need of a full rebuild. Anyway pulled it out of the garage it was stored in and have relocated it close to my home, I need to find storage space for my other toy so I can get the Westy into the garage at home to start the rebuild. She's a 1988/1989 kit, narrow body SE with a 1600 xflow. I'm sure I'll be looking for some help along the way specifically locating parts or newer alternatives. Richard 10 Quote

Steve G. Posted Friday at 16:33 Posted Friday at 16:33 Mine had been off the road for 14 years and it's taken a fair bit to get it working properly again. I didn't do a full rebuild but it's taken a while. Great to hear another early car is back on here. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted Friday at 16:49 Posted Friday at 16:49 Welcome back @Richard.C it’s good to have a narrow back on the road - or at least soon to be back on the road! Make sure you start a rebuild thread and post up photos of your progress. Ask as many questions as you need to, we’re here to help! There’s a possibility of a club 40th anniversary parade lap for our Westfields next year at the Silverstone Festival in the summer, so a good incentive to get it done before then! 1 Quote

Yeah, I lived in Oxfordshire back in the 90's but relocated to USA for 10 years and moved the Westy to my mum's near Malvern, the car had already been stood for a couple of years but on the way to my mum's the front right brake caliper seized so needed the AA to finish the journey. I was trying to fix the brakes during holidays back from America but that didn't work and it's been sat ever since. Quote

Thanks, I will definitely document the rebuild, not sure how quickly I will get it rebuilt though. First need to find space for my track car so I can get the Westy in the garage at home. Quote
