RickRack Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hiya all, since owning my SEight I’ve pondered what the long term future of the Petrol Engine or more to it “sustainable fuel” will be, but I’ve not worried about it for too long, as I can use it in the now. But having worked/supported 13 yrs at JLR in their EMC (engine manu ctr) now known as their EPMC (electric propulsion manu ctr) in Wolves, seeing the mass reduction in ICE engine output becoming EDU’s for EV’s, you see first hand the government/eco warrior led direction of the biggest UK vehicle manufacturer forced away from ICE over to the EV revolution. However, I read the following article that seems to give me hope, that I can leave my Westy to my grandson (he’s only 2 bless him 🥰) in the future, with the hope he’ll join the WSCC in years to come & drive it & correspond with all your kids & grandkids long after I’m gone to the big Westy garage in the sky.  https://www.supercar-driver.com/blog/the-future-is-synthetic-but-dont-panic-just-yet#:~:text=But the plan is to,Brace yourself.  Would be interested to hear if anyone has knowledge of developments, timing, UK infrastructure for alternate fuels via their work or motorsport, that gives us a glimpse of the future of E85 or whatever the synthetic fuel becomes know as to buy from my local BP and drive off with a rumble + spit & bang on the A5 in Staffordshire? 1 Quote
