A714 Newton Stewart to Girvin

This morning I drove the A714 from Newton Stewart to Girvin. Unfortunately not in my Westfield.  But what a fantastic road. 20 miles of twisty road with perfect tarmac and nothing else on the road at 930 on a Monday morning. Oh and the views aren't bad either ! 

 

If you visiting the Galloway Forrest or close by,  it's a fab run

I drove that road about three weeks ago in my Tiguan, and I was thinking exactly the same as you

Yeah there are some great roads down in that neck of the woods.

 

The A712 through the New Galloway Forest is a favourite and usually pretty quite too, though it's well known biker road too.

Hi - do any of you know any decent hotels around this area with secure parking as looking to do a trip around this area and up to Jedburg in my Westfield at some point

This actually ties in with my frequent trips to catch the ferry from Cairnryan. Will have to remember this next time im in Wendy . Thanks for the info.

Thanks @Martin Aldred - Shows & Events Coordinator, @Craigieboy, the 714 and 712 have been integrated to a road trip I'm hoping to do in the Westy come April.

Will do, if the car can be sorted in time... An interesting aspect of this trip will be that I'm the only 7 amongst a group of M and RS type cars. I'm sure car affects perspective to some degree.
