Also thinking of a Westfield and saying Hi

Hello everyone, Similar to a previous new poster, I have recently sold a previous 'toy' and was looking at the possibility of a Westfield as a replacement.

 

I have parameters I have to work to, such as whatever I get, it'll have to live in a shipping container (dehumidified) due to lack of space at home (kids & family cars etc take precedence apparently... I cant see reasoning myself  )

 

Since it'll be in a container, there are width restrictions so ideally I'm looking at something without doors or that can be kept with the roof off to allow access and a Westie is top of my list.

 

Hopefully I'll have about £10-£13k available, and will aim to factor in the cost of a good inspection by someone more qualified than me (I'm practical to an extent but happy to admit I'm not confident to check some of the more critical areas)

 

What I was really hoping was to meet up with an owner of a widebody Westfield somewhere in East Suffolk or North Essex who would be happy to show me over theirs and if possible let me try it for size (literally) before I head miles off to a prospective purchase only to find I don't fit in it.

 

If there is someone who would be happy to meet up I would be most grateful.

You are probably not too far from MK Sportscars by the sound of it. I would suggest you give them a visit and have a chat, they are very helpful and have loads of cars there of various makes.

 

I'm pretty they would let you sit in one or two and have a good look around. Unfortunately I live miles away or I'd be there on a regular basis just for the info I could pick up and no doubt the banter.

 

They have regular open days too so give them a call and arrange to go look around maybe?

I'm just North of Maldon, Essex - happy to show you around my 1998 widebodied car, or you're welcome to join our regular monthly meet (next one is on Sunday 12th in Battlesbridge, Essex from 9.30 onwards) where we normally have at least 5 cars

Hi and welcome!

 

You have a decent budget, you'll find a number of nice cars about at that price.

 

In terms of you fitting in one, the wide body Westfield is actually very accommodating and just about the largest of the "sevens" for interior space. I'm 6ft5 and "big boned" and have no issues, especially with lowered floors.

The usual great advice, so far! It's amazing just how much room can be found in the (now standard) wide body Westfield. (SEiW, or SEW in the old Westfield model names, though FW models are also wide body models, too.)

 

You have a great budget, and while it's harder getting to see different examples at this time of year, it is - for the usual weather reasons, the "best" time of year to buy, price wise, as they're always a little softer priced over Autumn/Winter.
