Either this, or someone that turns over lots of scrapped Westfields like this, so has a heap of parts they can bodge it back together with, give it a quick dusting of paint, and punt it out to the first person that doesn’t look too closely. No names, for the obvious legal reasons, but anyone on the forum long enough will be aware of at least one (commercial) operation like this. 1

Indeed. I reported said firm to the H&SE after viewing a video of theirs on YouTube jet washing the underside of a Westfield while it was suspended 7’ up by a forklift. The idiot jet washing it was standing completely underneath it, an extremely dangerous practice as forklift truck hydraulics don’t have anti-burst valves. If the hydraulics had failed in any way, the forks and car would drop unchecked and he would have been killed in a second. 2 1

Quite possible, but then you're also thinking like an enthusiastic and conscientious builder. (Which is a good thing!) It's staggering what the unscrupulous seem to get away with!

Yeah me neither! Sounds dangerous as hell. I have no idea who this dodgy company is though. Anyone want to DM the name please? For my own personal use, just obviously don't want to buy a car from them by mistake.

Not sure why you are worried about forklifts, seem perfectly safe to me… 😱
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted September 30 Posted September 30 I've seen it before, but still couldn't stop myself watching with horror. (that said, those shelves were shockingly badly installed, to collapse that easily)

Allow me to supply you with a few more fears (possibly NSFW but funny to sick minds like mine):
