ianali Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Brilliant day as ever. Lots of laughter and food and some brilliant roads. Not really any pics to add as Ali can’t see over the top of the car. Loads of thanks to all for the company, and a special thank you to Julie and Glen for organising another great day 👍😍 4 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago It's been a phenomenal summer and today, the last day of summer, it finished on a high. Sunshine all day long with 2 minutes of rain while we were inside having lunch, what weather we have had this year! We all met at Quackers and sat on the sun terrace It's in a beautiful setting with views over the gardens and catches the sun all day long, great for warming us up after our journey's. Parked at Quackers We went on a great run out around the Peak District, on a mixture of going through pretty villages and then onto empty country lanes away from any tourists. It was the last day of the Well Dressing in Wormhill and the home baked cakes in the village hall needed to be eaten. Lemon and blueberry cake was so popular we ate the lot...... The ladies were one step ahead of us lot, the reserves were fetched from out of the kitchen, so we didn't have to fight for it All still friends in Wormhill Village Hall Parked in Wormhill, a beautiful, tiny village in the middle of the Peak District, far from anywhere The Well Dressing The Childrens Well was everyone's favourite, well who doesn't like Paddington Bear, if you excuse the pun. Love the marmalade sandwiches and paw prints around the border. Ian kept the Church guard dog at bay More driving to follow in the wonderful countryside, it's starting to take a green tinge back on now we have had a spot of rain last week. After eating all that cake we were hungry (were we?) and so for lunch we went, to The Cow Shed, Tideswell. We covered the cars up and there was a few spots of rain while we were inside. Becky was fancying beef Inside the Cow Shed More!! You all want more? Ruddy Oliver Twist here, ok we will go on, well the sun is still shining so why rush off home? The Chatsworth Kitchen More cake even, are we sharing Mr 2 Spoons? And so the day ended, along with meterological summer, in glorious sunshine. The cars looking fabulous, all running well and lots of happy owners, what an amazing hobby we have, we are so very, very lucky x 5 Quote
