XI IVA Stuff

Hi

 

In need of the following IVA parts for my recently acquired part-built XI kit:

 

• IVA Mirrors (wing and centre)
• 1 IVA mirror mount (have 2 already)
• IVA Steering Wheel

 

This is the big ask..... if anyone is willing to sell the rear number plate/fog/reversing light set-up that they used to get through IVA, I'd be very interested. Yes, I'm lazy... but also I'd quite like to have an "IVA kit" that can be passed on to another builder after I'm done with it.

Sorry, I've already passed my IVA parts onto another owner a few months back.

 

It's worth asking the factory if they now loan out Sport Turbo seats for the test.

I have, they don't any more.... Will have to track a set down at some point unless the Cobra 7s in my SEiW would be ok...

That's a shame that they don't.

 

They'll be ok provided they are narrow enough, although the S Turbo seats also have belt guides that may or may not be relevant.

The 7s have belt guides too.... do the seats need to have some kind of certificate of conformity regarding capability to take the load in event of accident or is it just they just have to be high backed?

I know 7 owners have had issue with proving seat strength in the past, but I'm not aware of any XI owners having the same problem. Make of that what you will!

 

I've still got my IVA steering wheel with matching boss and centre pad. My rear number plate holder and lamps are still in the garage, although I snipped the fog and reversing lamps wires short after IVA when I fitted the new undermount lights, so they would need connectors adding. I don't think I have the body mounts any more, but they were simple aluminium strips bent yo suit the car. I'm not convinced my strips would fit anyone else's car.....

 

I'm afraid I've no idea what i did woth my wing mirrors!

@DIY-Si see my recent parts wanted ad... can you price up steering wheel and number plate/lights device ( inc postage) and let me know....

My IVA inspector didn't ask for proof of seat strength. It was important to ensure that the belts ran through the slots as close to horizontally as possible by adding packing washers beneath the belt top mountings and by angling the seat backwards.
