Pete Osment Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hi, I have a 1800 siew, year 2000. Its got slight play in front wheel bearing, Does any one know what bearings these are and where to them from please ? also is it much of a job to fit ? (I think they might be escort ) Many thanks Pete Quote
evosteve Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Should be Burton SKF wheel bearing kit (front): Ford Escort Mk2 (not RS), Cortina Mk3\Mk4\Mk5 SKF266. They might just adjusting. Quote
Steve G. Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think the Burton ones mentioned are correct for standard Cortina uprights. I've just bought a set off ebay for my car as I couldn't speak to Burtons to check as the number they have listed isn't the same as in the SKF catalogue, it's also cheaper postage if you do it over the phone as well. The number I ordered is VKBA 505. They should get delivered today so I will check to see if they are right later on. Quote
Pete Osment Posted 47 minutes ago Author Posted 47 minutes ago I don't think they are the taper roller style bearing , it's got a big 41mm nut on the inside of the hub,( towards the chassis) Quote
Steve G. Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago Sounds like you might have aluminium uprights. The stub axles are seperate and the nut holds them into the upright. They should be taper rollers and will probably the same as those used for a Cortina. I did notice that some non Westfield hubs use different size bearings though. I expect someone will be able to confirm what they are if you can take a picture of the upights and hubs. Quote
