Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted April 26, 2004 Author Posted April 26, 2004 oioi, you know what a mapatassie is, don't you. If not, look at the general shape of the logo on the masthead on this site here Quote

oioi Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 from Rogers Profanisaurus mapatasi n. Aus. (ma-pa-ta-zee) Minge. As in: "Show us yer mapatasi, Sheila". abbr. Map of Tasmania. From the similarity in shape of said island to a muff. i remeber that too (true blond) but cannot remeber her name (make of that emoticon what you will ) Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I don't use my lights either even though its a very dark, bright Yellow!! Quote
zoso Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Wouldn't like to hit a pheasant in the Westfield, hit one in the tintop once and it all but destroyed the front number plate Pheasants.... pah.... Sheep and ponies on Dartmoor would make a mess, as would a deer anywhere in Surrey......... I hit a deer in my punto at about 55mph (whilst heavily breaking) and the stupid animal bounced of the passenger side wing, over a hedge never to be seen again... It's offical you can dead-leg a deer in a fiat punto and no harm will come to the car.. however a pheasant destroyed most of the under-part of the front bumper/grill... go figure... Quote
Muttleys V8 Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Always on the motorway..... My first trip in the car was on the M1 going back to Yorkshire, quite weird when you overtake a nissan micra and the driver looks down on you Steve Quote
studbuckle Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 It's offical you can dead-leg a deer in a fiat punto and no harm will come to the car.. That'll be the plastic front wings on a Punto then Quote

Monkeylegend Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 It seemed to me that Australia would be a fabulous place to own a Westfield 'cos the weather is better more often and there's b*gger all traffic. But the number of cars with 'roo bars is a bit worrying! They don't put them on for style! Imagine hitting a grey 'roo at 90 (kilometres, of course). Even headlights don't deter them. Have recently returned from holiday in Australia and would agree about the weather plus the fact that petrol is only £1.40 or so a gallon. As for driving it was very frustating if you wanted to enjoy yourself. Speed limits lower everywhere compared to UK, eg 110 kph max on motorways (68mph) and max 90kph on other major roads and EVERYONE sticks to them. If you thought the boys in blue were hot over here try Oz. And the fines for speading are very stiff, ie £120 approx for doing 130 in 110 limit. And you would be so conspicious in a Westfield it would be pergatory. Couldn't wait to get back to good old Blighty, even with our traffic congested roads. The beer was cheap though. Quote
oldman Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Headlights....oh yes,if you have a dark coloured car.I used to feel like a bit of a nancy boy having em on until,I got so fed up with hitting the brake pedal all the time. Now I always put em on when I feel a blat coming on.....makes sense really Quote
Camel_Landy Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 FWIW... I use my dipped lights whenever I go out no matter what I drive. Mind you, that still didn't stop someone reversing into me a few weeks back. Mark. Quote
