The Cheshire and N. Staffs area meet the first Thursday of the month at the Golden Pheasant, Plumley. We’d love to see you and your new car! (Though you’re very welcome to join us with or without the Westfield!) Additionally, a few of us often join the Peak District Area of a Sunday, to enjoy runs in the hills and dales. You’d be very welcome to come along. We'll be there at some point 👍 1 Quote
Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 Well, still no car, but the ramp has arrived and the good news is, I think it will just about fit in one of my garages 😂 1 Quote

Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer Posted August 8 Author Posted August 8 In our usual inimitable fashion, just as the car is ready to collect, we’re off on holiday for a week 🙄 However, I should have the four post lift fully installed and working by the end of Sunday 🤞 1 Quote
Popular Post Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer Posted August 9 Author Popular Post Posted August 9 Another thrilling update for all those interested in ‘What have we done’ We will be collecting the car one day the week after next and Andrew at Toybox has come up trumps and found us a roof 😎 This afternoon has been spent fitting the lift. All the heavy stuff is done, electrics and hydraulics tomorrow, hopefully ending with the Spitfire up on top bunk before we go away Monday morning🤞 The good news is, it actually fits! 10 Quote
Popular Post Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer Posted August 10 Author Popular Post Posted August 10 Great success! Lift is in and working and the Spitfire fits a treat, although it seems to be p*ssing petrol straight out of one carb 🙄 I need to move a scaffold pole that was used for hanging stuff off and then I can get it about another 18” higher. Certainly more than enough room for the Westfield to live on bottom bunk, I will have to protect it from golden showers though 😂 7 3 Quote
Popular Post Tim (Sideways) Johnson - Club Treasurer Posted 17 hours ago Author Popular Post Posted 17 hours ago I guess we really have done it now. Collected today and really pleased after a 60 mile journey along all kinds of roads. Deaf in one ear, blind in one eye, forgot to take my hat and my driving glasses, but we came home doorless and topless (ooh, err) even with a light sprinkle of rain. Chuffed to bits, now it’s time to learn the ways of it. Expect many questions, but for now bask in the glory of our yellow ray of sunshine ☀️ 13 Quote

Kingster Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago After reading all of the recent MOT failure posts I bet you are glad it’s on a Q 👍😁 Like the garage lift idea. 2 Quote

To be honest, I was dead set against a Q plate, but having a chat with my MOT man, decided it was on balance probably a positive. The lift was an idea that I stole from my nephew who had built his own garage and installed one to take his Lotus (Exige/Elise/something or other). I didn’t realise they were ‘reasonably’ priced. Plus the retailer was offering three interest free payments. Winner! 1 Quote
Kit Car Electronics and Essex AO Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Looks nice, enjoy! I think I spotted R6 fuel injection hose - you should plan to change that for R9 or Gates Barricade for better protection from ethanol - meanwhile keep an eye on it for cracking. 1 1 Quote

Good spot and definitely one to check. Mine showed signs of cracking after only a few years, so replaced the R6 with Gates Barricade as soon as I spotted it. 1 Quote

In fact it can only increase it’s desirability as MOTs get stricter and testers will be less likely to fudge the results 👍 4 Quote

Mine is a 14 plate and right now I'd love a Q plate again specifically because of this MOT emissions issue we are now seeing. In fact if I sell the Carrot I will definitely be looking for a Q plate Westfield not a normal plated one. Anything for an easier kit car life! 1 Quote
Flying Carrot Steve Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago My first kit was a Q plate, paid £4800 for it, sold it years later for £6000! I'm wondering if it's worth getting a warehouse, buying up all the Q plates and sitting on them until they make MOTing kits so hard they'll be worth a mint 😂😂 In the meantime I quite like this one..... https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/18612193 I know its listed on here too. Fab looking thing. Great spec but I know very little about those EcoBoost engines. Are they any good in a kit car? Quote
