My advice is given as an MOT tester, MOT tester trainer, MOT manager, MOT manager trainer, and 50 years of MOT experience!

But apart from being an MOT tester, MOT tester trainer, MOT manager, MOT manager trainer, and 50 years of MOT experience, and a great club member and Area Organiser, what has Martyn ever done for us? 🤣

Can you not just get yourself an exhaust with a cat on just for mot's I was toying with this idea as my mot man even said my megablade would need a cat so I tried a different garage and he was fine and it passed.

It would need a lambda too (so maybe a remap). That said, I may have missed the fact it already has one

Well I’ve managed to get an engineers report from a Vauxhall specialist that dates the engine at 1990 so no cat needed. I’ve also just had a reply back from DVSA who have confirmed this would be enough proof of the age of the engine!  So I’m gonna take this to the test station soon… I will update on progress!  Hopefully with an MOT pass!

Great news & good luck, please let us know how you get on, as this is a regular occurrence as MOT failure is so frustrating 🤞👍

Thanks yeah I will definitely let you know how I get on. I think having the email from DVSA along with all my other evidence surely they can’t refuse! 👍
