Paul Baker - Bristol Bath and Cotswold AO Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago We had a brilliant outing this morning, great weather and great company. I counted 12 cars in total, with 6 Westfields, 2 GTMs, a V-Storm, a Lotus, a Ford Capri and a Robin Hood. We kicked off with the early meet at the Cross Hands pub just north of Bristol and it turned into an impromptu takeover of their car park. Kirk had the longest journey there, travelling over from South Wales and we gradually joined him and lined everyone up. We were then joined by some other enthusiasts over the other side of the car park who must have had the same idea. We went to say hello and looked at two more Capris, an Opel Manta, a Rover Coupe and a beautiful Porsche which I'd love to have learnt more about if we'd had the time. Then we set off and had a great run down to Five Zeros Supercars at Bradford on Avon. It was a lot of fun leading the convoy and we managed to stay together! Roads were reasonably quiet so a nice drive. We arrived and lined up alongside Gary's Robin Hood and it didn't take long for the car park to be packed. It was Aston Martin weekend and the glorious weather was obviously encouraging everyone to come out. And it did make me laugh that our three yellow cars stuck together! We enjoyed a breakfast bap or two, had a nice catch up with everyone and looked at some great machines. When we eventually drifted away, Peter led some of us on a tour up northwards via Castle Combe. Peter's Fireblade is rapid and Flying Carrot Steve was flying after him in his turbo, the pair of them were out of sight at the end. A great blat to finish the morning. Thanks to everyone who came out to play. Looking forward to the next one already. 2 Quote
