Black hood that was the previous owner had custom made for use with the full size RAC rollbar. Appears to be good quality like the original Westfield hood.

£125 collected from Edinburgh or can look to post but not sure how much it will be.IMG20250324160922.thumb.jpg.cf180be51e035bd42f51b4b81405505c.jpgIMG20250324160949.thumb.jpg.16464d6ee6d0bb5ac6988616818a64ef.jpgIMG20250324160931.thumb.jpg.3700b1c84d7e1484d87210d923947e57.jpg

I’m interested in this…do you have any pics of it on the vehicle?

No, it needs the buttons matching up as it doesn't align with the buttons on mine and I never changed it to match

I can post some pics with it roughly in place if that helps as I think a few buttons like up?

Yeah that would be helpful thanks. The button spacing could be problematic though…are you able to measure the distances between them? (Sorry to be a pain! My car has an RAC roll bar and a standard hood which probably pre-dates the fitting of that, so all the buttons are already there on the body even though the hood can only reach about three of them!)

Yeah I had the same problem which is why I gave up as didn't want to modify my original hood and got this one instead.

Here's some pics but I can't quite get it to reach since I've refitted this larger RAC bar but was told it was for the RAC bar when I bought it so don't think thats correct any more and will update the listing as this might only for the shorter bar or the original Westfield bar (I've bought so many different bits that I think I'm getting mixed up with what fits)IMG20250324170834.thumb.jpg.aa80e5a844f5865d72d3cb409bd8f51b.jpgIMG20250324170848.thumb.jpg.4ae4a694d29ac6165738e407837eeebb.jpgIMG20250324170844.thumb.jpg.d8156dec29b94c3b17ade76760f83b72.jpgIMG20250324170840.thumb.jpg.14334d378e1a43f991a6bc0ee221eb79.jpg

Ah ok, thanks for checking. It does like similar to mine that in terms of very nearly reaching but not quite! Sure someone could design a little additional strip with poppers suited to the hood and the car to allow all these “short” hoods to be adapted for RAC roll bar’d cars

I'll give it another go once weather calms down a bit as I'm fighting with the wind here and will see if I can make it fit for at least the length even if the poppers don't match up as the plan was to just add extra buttons but then I got my original hood to fit so gave up on this one

FWIW

A Westfield hood doesn't need modifying to fit over an RAC roll bar. It will need modifying to fit over the MSA roll bar which is taller and reach the bodywork. With an RAC roll bar but without the folding pram frame the hood is baggy behind the roll bar and would flap about.

For clarity and to help your sale, it might be worth adding a photo of the roll bar on your car as to me it looks like you have something other than an RAC bar fitted

Mine has an extension made out of an old seatbelt with the poppers installed onto it. I’ll take a pic and send it to you later when I get home.

Yeah I agree as I have an original Westfield hood that fits over with no mods.

When I bought this hood it came as a package deal with the boot box and the RAC roll bar but think I'm getting mixed up as I've also got a shorter bar in my other for sale post. The one I have fitted to the car is a full height one and it's struggling to fit over this one so think the hood came with the shorter bar and not this one.

This is what I have on my car to enable my hood to fit with an RAC bar. It is made from an old seatbelt. Might help you sell your hood 👍

That's a great idea and easy too! Funnily I think I actually have some spare seatbelt material somewhere I can throw in as well if I can find it

From my experience, if the hood has a white/light grey inner surface, it’s more likely an older, often nineties era hood, from the Kit bodywork cars. The hood frame for these had noticeably different proportions to the later ZK body hood frame. (The ZK hoods are generally single colour, so a black hood, has a black interior.)

Personal experience was that the older hoods struggle to fit an RAC bar/ZK bodywork combination, even with a modified version of their original frame, without modifying/extending parts of the hood, too. Trouble is though, unless you have the matching side screens, they don’t fit properly, here, either. I gave up and put the second hand Kit type, I’d bought without realising, back up for sale, and bought a known ZK hood and frame, instead.

Forgot to add, the ZK hood, does clear an RAC roll bar, however the frame either needs modifying, or, in the old days, the factory sold a long since discontinued fitting kit, to allow a standard frame to work with the bar.

Thanks for clarifying as I didn't know about older Kit bodywork.

When I bought this I was told it was a custom hood made by Aldridge trimmers in Birmingham who used to make the hoods for Westfield but sounds like the original car could be the Kit bodywork type.
