Get Ready for Spring and Summer FUN

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell my lovely Factory Built Westfield Sport Carbon. I have recently become the custodian of my Dad’s 1934 Morgan F4 and I need to make garage space for this 90 year old beauty to return to Malvern and live her years with me a mile from the Morgan Factory.

 

I have owned W7 LTD since 2019 and I have replaced the standard Zetec zump with a Race Line sump (Receipt for £518) which is correctly baffled for longitudinal use of the Zetec engine and increases ground clearance at the sump from 70mm to 130mm.

 

W7 LTD is a lovely car. 1800 Zetec “silver top” engine on Jenvey throttle bodies, factory rated at 155BHP (when new), runs beautifully, MOT until 22/04/2025, but a new MOT can be completed before sale to new custodian. One MOT advisory to “Monitor and repair if necessary: Brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened Rear (inner faces)”, the MOT Tester advised me to use the car more to address this 

 

Yokohama tyres (Avon on spare), factory fitted radio/CD player, factory fitted immobiliser with 2 fobs, comes with full tonneau giving a 50:50 split for solo driving with the passenger seat covered, wet weather gear (hood & doors). A lovely midnight/dark navy blue. Limited slip differential, removable steering wheel. Great oil pressure.

 

Real factory fitted carbon fibre (not wrapping) nose cone, front mudguards, rear wing stone guards. This is a genuine factory built Sport Carbon with the original factory plaque on the dashboard (see photos). This is a very original Sport Carbon with minimal, but beneficial, post factory improvements: Race Line Sump, oil surge/catch tank/swirl pot, voltmeter, 12v outlet, new aluminium water thermostat housing (changed to aluminium from plastic, common fault they break), smaller headlights, removable steering wheel.

 

Jobs on my To Do List if I was keeping the car:

 

Functional:

• Replace the two handbrake cables (£25 each from Westfield Shop) due to wear and tear to plastic outers, still fully functional.
• Reduce gearbox bell housing at the bottom to increase ground clearance (I do not understand why this was not done at the factory on factory built cars).

 

Cosmetic:

• Make and fit a stainless steel surround around lambda sensor (currently exits through fibre glass bodywork and needs cosmetic improvement/tidying) – I have the stainless steel ready to cut and fit.
• Make a new mounting for the oil surge/catch tank/swirl pot because the original one (fitted by a previous custodian) is a bit “rough” and is not to my satisfaction.
• Replace a couple of press studs (10mm stud, 15mm surround/cap) for the hood which have broken (as they do).
• Replace rear number plate holder which was cut down by a previous custodian and is a bit “tatty” around the edges.
• Fit a Carbon Silencer (the existing one does not require replacing, but I believe this change would fit in with the overall look of the Sport Carbon) and change lambda sensor to an inboard one and close current sensor hole in body work.
• Replace vinyl dashboard with a Carbon one (the existing one does not require replacing, but I believe this change would fit in with the overall look of the Sport Carbon).
• Replace the voltmeter fitted by a previous custodian to match the other VDO Vision “clocks” currently (£39.49 at Demon Tweaks https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/vdo-vision-voltmeter-2014447/).

 

THIS IS A FACTORY BUILT CAR, a GENUINE Sport Carbon Limited Edition #9 of 24 (there was no #13 hence why often claimed as limited edition of 25) with all Westfield Factory paperwork and original bill of sale.
