Block re-bored and head has had unleaded fuel conversion done. New pistons fitted. Bronze guide liners fitted. Ported and polished. Work carried out by Barnes Auto Engineering in Menai Bridge. Dry sumped, twin Webbers and electronic ignition. Kent fast road cam. Duplex timing chains 4 speed rocket box, re-packable exhaust RAC roll bar and 4 point Willans harnesses Tyres are Toyo R1R Proxies – 195/50 x 15 Further work done since I got the car in 2006 – Full suspension renewal and set up. Shocks, bushes track rod ends etc. All brakes stripped and parts replaced as required. Work carried out by Autopro in Buckley, Mike the owner used to race Westfields and build them for customers. In 2022 I had a new Coolex aluminium radiator and water pump fitted. Full carb overhaul and tuned on a rolling road. Asked for a broader torque band than peak power to allow better use of the 4 speed box. Print out shows a max of 83BHP at the wheels, so about 105BHP at the flywheel. Work carried out by A.B Garage in Hawarden. Only 150 miles done since this work was completed. Bad bits:- 33 year old body work is showing its age. Cracking in the surface coat, a small hole in the bonnet and various chips and scratches. A small oil leak has appeared. The car is a hoot to drive and I have enjoyed a number of track days at the Anglesey Circuit. The car is faster than I am.
