That is odd. The wiring looks nicely done under the bonnet (admittedly a cover would be nice, though) yet under the dash it's a mess. I'd guess that the previous owner was tidying it up and either ran out of enthusiasm or got out of their depth. Quote

Really looking like a great solution ! esp if someone want to push rearward as possible engine and transmission (assuming chassis is with wide tunnel) , or want to change cracked thermostat housing. Also the pipes to pump and radiator look more tidy . Not sure only if this route of upper radiator tube needs they water pump with converted impeller - so no need to pulley in place where thi upper tube goes. Quote
Euan Hoosearmy Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I've got the Dunnell Water Rail on a Silvertop. I added it after the original housing broke. No need to change water pump. Water rail only re-routes the pipe for the main flow when the thermostat is open. Return pipe from rad to water pump is unchanged. Bypass circuit, heater circuit and line to header tank all work the same as OEM housing just slightly different outlet locations. The housing itself is a bit of CNC billet metal beauty.... shame you can't really see it once it is in place. 1 Quote

It's always good to see another Westfield owner on this side of the pond. I was watching this auction on Bring a Trailer with interest. Based on the additional photos posted there, it's definitely an SEiW, not SEi as per the listing. I'm curious what the previous owner was doing with the dash (lots of plugged holes and it almost looks like a layer of bondo covering everything) and all the loose wires under the steering wheel? The turn signal stalk is certainly a rare modification. Do you know yet if all the electrical items work and the wiring just needs a cleanup or is there troubleshooting ahead? What are your plans for the car? Cheers, John not yet been able to get round to anything, but did manage to speak with the builder about the build (the bat auction seller was a broker). Plan right now while the weather is poor will be to ‘make it my own’ with a few mods. I just put twin turbos on my dodge challenger so may look at forced induction for the zetec. i met a guy on USA7 who was auto crossing so may also look into that. otherwise long drives on twisty roads 1 Quote
