2025 WSCC Member & Local Area Funny Places Challenge

Recommended Posts

Greetings and Happy New Year to you all!

As per the title, I have a (almost) year long challenge for the local areas and their members.  This is a link to a GB map of amusing, silly, or naughty place names, many of which I can't list here lest the swear filter catches me out.

Your task is to visit these places (indicated by a blue flag on the map) and take a photo of yourself (and if possible, with your Westfield - some locations are not accessible by car) at these places - the name of the place must be visible in the photo.

Scoring will be as follows:

One point for each WSCC member in the photo

One point for each Westfield in the photo

One extra point if the WSCC member is in costume

One point for your Local Area

Separately, there will be one point for every place with Westfield in its name visited (indicated by red flags).

Contest closes on 30 November 2025.  There will be a prize at the end of the year for the highest scoring WSCC member, for the highest scoring Local Area, and for the best costume.

The map is a work in progress and I'm aware it may be thin in places, so your help would be appreciated.  You may submit amusing, silly, or naughty place names and locations below for consideration for me to add to the map - my ruling is final.

(Disclaimer: I’m not responsible for you driving all the way somewhere and not finding a place name sign to prove you’re there.  Use Google Street View to look before you go!)

Submit your photos and stories to go with them below.  I'll create, post and update a spreadsheet in due course. Good luck, you've only got 11 months left!

Kents Bottom on the B4039 near Chippenham. You are guaranteed to find the village name sign as you enter with the T painted over. It's also just under 1 mile from Tiddleywink. God knows what they have amended that sign to say!

Also the well known village of Lacock on the A350, named after some French geezer no doubt. Has a famous abbey.

We also have L’Minge in Kent or Lyminge if you live there 😂

One to be careful of as you get in or out of your Westie - Balls Cross. Damned painful.

Titty Hill near Midhurst. Yep that is a real one 😂

They've actually had to cement this road name into a wall, no doubt it's been stolen too many times in the past! 😂

L’Minge in Kent

Surely, this must be somewhere in France?  I think it could be close to the town below:

Which is around the back end of Burgundy & only 25 km from Orgy….

So there’s a few options for our French members (non pun intended 😜)

Remember, you can do this at any time during the contest, Westfield not required, but you do get extra points for doing it with your Westfield.  It’s an ideal opportunity for Area Organisers to do area runouts with their locals to score maximum points.

I remember MCN mentioning, "Wheely Down Road"  Warnford.
