Hi All

New Year, new topic!

so we have our Christmas Lunch in January but potentially before that we have the Brooklands New Years Day Classic. I’m not going to try and predict the weather but if it’s dry and heads not too sore, then it’s a lovely way to start the year as you mean to go on.

Hi, those that attended the Christmas meal will have seen this but for those who couldn't make it, its a list of some of the ideas for this year. Some are going to take a bit of planning, like those which require pre booking or accommodation.

  • Caffeine & Machine ~ Built Not Bought (15/16 March Petersfield Hants)
  • Santa Pod ~ Kit Fest 5/6 April
  • Haynes Motor Museum ~ Overnighter teaming up with WSCC Kent ( 4 May / 3 August)
  • Malvern National Kit Car Show ~ 31st May /  1st June
  • Track Limits ~ Aug 5th North Weald Aerodrome
  • Goodwood Breakfast Club ( 4 May / 1 June / 3 August)
  • Local Car Meets ~ Ockham & Bagshot – 2nd Sunday
  • Cool Flo – Brooklands - Last Thursday of Month (Evenings)
  • Brooklands Museum (19 April – Easter Classic; 26 May – Best of British + others)
  • Club Evenings ( April to October)
  • Weekend Runs
  • East Meets West with SKCC

Haynes Motor Museum (Yeovil) Breakfast Meet May 2025

I'm looking to gauge interest in attending the Haynes breakfast meeting on May 4th. Sadly I can't make Malvern this year and as I normally attend that with a friend who owns a Caterham I've suggested we replace it with an overnight trip to Haynes.

My plan is,

  • Saturday Morning - head west towards Yeovil and take a scenic route
  • Saturday Afternoon - visit the museum (entry ticket is then valid for 1 year)
  • Saturday Evening - stay somewhere local (eg Castle Cary)
  • Sunday Morning - attend breakfast meet
  • Sunday Afternoon - meander home

At this early stage of arranging;
It is a ticketed event (£5) and people will need to book accommodation. I've got no idea of numbers or interest as to how big a hotel we might need 😁

Ben (Kent AO) is also talking about doing something similar and of course I'm happy to help co ordinate for members in Hampshire and surrounding counties.
If people just want to attend the Breakfast meet and skip Saturday then that is absolutely fine too.
If the weather is rubbish then we can quickly swap to rainy day cars

I'm aware May 4th clashes with Goodwood and some may prefer to head to that.

cheers
Martin

@Martin Hewes AO Surrey I'm new in Hampshire and if our house purchase is all sorted by then and my Westy is back out of storage, I'd be up for this

@Martin Hewes AO Surrey we have 4th May at Haynes in our calendar too, as does @Paul Baker - Bristol Bath and Cotswold AO so perhaps we can all assemble somewhere beforehand and drive in together? Could have a decent number of cars there, would be good to meet you all 👍

@Martin Hewes AO Surrey can you also put 13th July in the calendar for the Vehicle Show and Family Fun Day at Ansty park Alton.

See this Facebook group for details. My wife is the organiser of this event which is raising money for a SEN school in Farnham which my son attends.

Suggestions welcome on local reasonably priced B&Bs with Westfield-appropriate parking, well located for beer & food on Saturday?

Hi Everyone,

Just to publish to anyone in the wider world, a few of us from Surrey & Sussex are heading down to Caffeine & Machine Hut on Sunday morning around 9:30 for their 'Built not Bought' event.

If you're interested then get your self a ticket £5 (redeemable against food) and let me know if you want me to try and get you connected to a convoy....

Hi All, Firstly the sun is out, Ian's finally back on the road so we were thinking of a trip to the Parrot one evening. This week has been a little hectic for me but hopefully the weather will hold and we can do one evening next week. We also have the Brooklands Easter Classic on Sat 19th and the usual local breakfast club meets on the 2nd Sunday (13th)
Let me know which evenings work next week
