Scottish Government Speed reductions

Recommended Posts

I have just come across this on Pistonheads. The Scottish government are consulting on reducing all NSL to 50mph. Within the consultation is then to allow trucks over 7.5 tons to increase to the same speeds as cars.

As with all consultations the questions are a bit loaded but there are comment boxes to give your views. It is not closed to just Scottish residents so fill it in if you disagree with the blanket reduction. It worked so well in Wales and even though the consultation there was overwhelmingly against it the still did it and are now undoing some of it after wasting £35million on it.

I hope that this is not already decided but here's hoping that there may be a chance to have an affect upon their thinking.

What a bunch of clowns the SNP government are and that's coming from someone who voted for them previously.

The welsh labour government has already said they want to do the same thing and Starmer wants to copy the welsh labour policies from the last 25 years .

Around here the government (or council; I'm not sure which) had been ratcheting down the speed limits gradually for ages.  20 limits have been appearing in built up areas and roads that were previously NSL are now 50 or even 40.

It almost won't make any difference 😞
