Has anyone got an update on the current situation Westfield will have to conform to with the EV switch over in 2030 and fines if the manufacturer doesn't comply - does this affect Westfield and EV development for them or are smaller companies exempt? Which I've not heard of

I doubt it as the U.K. cars aren’t type approved and already don’t have to meet current emissions requirements.

if the 2030 legislation affects Westfields sales in the U.K. then it will impact the home built cars in exactly the same way.

So the government targets are for type approved homologated cars and not low volume IVA tested cars. 👍

Good to hear, we'll see how this shower currently in power come up with as they've just rejected a plea from all the manufacturers to move the 2030 deadline.. The government said it stays.. What blind people decide. Our country and our output is miniscule and makes no difference to the planet. Already the likes of Nissan have threatened they will be rethinking future investment. Remember, they were only ever here to get cars into Europe. After brexit they don't have to stay here and can quite easily up sticks and move to eastern Europe.. This government is definitely not for the people - I always thought Labour cared about the worker, yet one of our last major manufacturers they're rubbing up the wrong way..

It could end up being a positive thing for the kit car market- fewer alternatives to 'white good's' cars will be around.
