2001 NBFL SVT version.   75000 miles

Blue Metallic. MOT till Oct. 2025.
6spd manual box and Torsen 3.6 LSD

Conversion was carried out 5 years ago by a mechanical engineer, he also  renewed the front chassis rails to factory standard , converted the car from auto to manual gearbox, fitted a half cage and all alloy Mishimoto radiator.

In my 4 year ownership I've fitted Meister Zeta CRD coilovers, stainless steel chassis stiffeners and under front wing frog arms (no more scuttle shake), Conti Premium Contact 6 tyres, new starter, alternator battery. Cills were rebuilt by professional bodyshop and painted in body colour with factory finish.  No rust, dents or damage to body panels.
Interior trim is all original undamaged with Radio/CD player.
Hood just been revitalised with Renovo Hood Restorer kit.

V5 updated by DVLA with new engine details.

The full Rocketeer conversion kit would cost you almost £12,000 if they were available but they are not at the present time.  Also save yourself up to a years work on conversion time.

Bad bits,   Some inevitable stone chips to front panel and bumper,  boot lid and passenger door paint faded.

That's a very interesting car, what sort of power is it making

Posted

269bhp at time of conversion

They are a fab engine. I have an MK which comes onto the rollers occasionally and it made 272hp last time on, and sounded superb!

I'd love one - and would have seriously considered buying this if I didn't already have my 2019 ND RF (which was originally my Dads)

Absolutely awesome car. If only I had the spare funds, if my numbers come up and I win £12k I will be knocking at your door🤞

The car is, by all accounts, quite literally a rocketship (aptly named). But I haven't tried it myself.

However, I can personally vouch for the vendor - bought my fantastic Westie of Bernie.

You may need to negotiate this privately with him, but to me his After-Sales support has been amazing, too!

🙂

3ltr V6 AJ30 out of a stype Jag, Ford Duratec all alloy V6.

Same bottom end as a ST220 Mondeo but with different heads which have solid cam followers and VVT on the inlet cam.

Rocketeer conversion consists of:

The carbon inlet manifolds,

Exhaust manifolds,

Aftermarket ECU,

Custom made bell housing to mate the Mx5 box to the engine,

Flywheel,and sump.

Iirc it was circa 12k if they did the conversion, circa 6k if they just supplied the conversion kit.

The last batch of kits cost over £12k now.

Turn key conversion is about £18k.

That's if you are including a blue printed rebuilt engine off Rocketeer at £5995+VAT.

Not if you fit a used engine with just their conversion parts.

If this has the blue printed rebuilt engine might be a good idea to add that information to the details!👍
