Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
It has been a really interesting year in terms of trying out a new scoring system, slight change of classes, and trying to see how best to go forward with the Speed Series. There has been very good attendance at our usual popular events eg LDMC Anglesey, with Blyton Park & Harewood also proving popular. Other events less popular, this will be taken into account with our 2025 Calendar. However the most unusual result for the Championship has been to see Dave Smith and Dave Banner score so well and us to end up with a Tie for the Overall Champion, this is usually resolved using some form of countback, however our regulations did not cover us for the particular circumstances in this case. So we have declared a tie between the two Dave's, who both drove exceptionally well all season. Congratulations to them both. 4
Mark Stanton
Congratulations to all involved, well done 👍 It does sadden me a little to see that there wasn't anyone for the Novice Champion or Best Newcomer, the speed series and motorsport in general always needs newcomers and novices to keep everything going. When Tom G and I first spoke all those years ago about a WSCC Championship it was always his ethos to encourage and capture "newbies" and offer an economical route into motorsport and wherever that may lead to - So many championship winners in various forms of motorsport have cut their teeth within the Speed Series. Let's hope that 2025 is able to entice and attract some "newbies" 👍 2
