What's the best way to ship two GRP seats please?

I am buying two GRP seats from a guy and I need to get them picked up from him and delivered to me. It's within the UK and less than 150 miles.

You guys who sell stuff on here, how do you normally do it please? I was thinking of using Evri maybe? Not bothered about cost, just want a good service with the least amount of hassle for the seller.

Before I retired that would not have been a problem as I looked after two locations over that way.

My replacement lives over that way so I cannot help sadly others might

Nope, not happening. Far too busy and the fuel cost would be crippling, we have already both considered that and it's a non starter.

If I got up any earlier I'd meet myself going to bed!

Try getting a quotation from Shiply. I’ve used them to collect and deliver wheels and other large awkward items.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about good old Shiply. I used their quotation service yonks ago, very good it was too.

Well the Shiply quotes are starting to come on but at £183 (cheapest so far) I suspect I will be using Evri or Royal Snail.

Give up a few days or so, they normally start high then drop down.

Have you input an accurate size and weight, that often helps reduce the cost.

Yeah have measured a Tillett Caterham seat that I have upstairs so shouldn't be far off accurate measurements.

Just to say that Evri is a rebrand of Hermes who did not exactly have a stellar reputation amongst parcel companies.

Yep. I have found them to be very good. I think like a lot of these things it often depends upon the individual delivery driver more so than the actual company. But if you get a dodgy driver then I think the company was not exactly helpful in sorting the issues. I've had loads of stuff delivered to me by eBay sellers using Evri and am yet to have a single issue my end. Just need to find out if they collect from the seller rather than him having to take them to a local Evri location

Now down to £81! Still a fair bit though, I'm sure Evri would be cheaper
