John Whyte
I’ve just joined the club this week having put a deposit down on my first Westfield from Toybox. It’s the yellow and black one in their latest video 😍 Really looking forward to owning and enjoying it and reading the threads on this forum has been great. As a new owner what’s the most useful thing to know or buy? Any obscure tools that I should get? I’m in Yarm if anyone is local?

Hi John, welcome to the best club on the circuit from sunny Wolverhampton and Just to make you aware, photos to be posted on here are the law, as soon as you get it 😉 Let us know what the set up, model, engine and any general info and you’re get plenty of support. The forum is also a great place to “search” for tech info for over a decade so post up any questions. I’m also a novice Westy owner having had mine for 15 months, but there is plenty of others in the same boat supported by many that have had years of experience. Hope to see you at one of the events, shows, etc. Good luck with the car & happy Westfielding. 🙏🫶🏼👍 1

Welcome @John Whyte, I can hand on heart say joining the WSCC after I got my 1st Westie (the Flying Carrot) was probably the best thing I've done in my 11+ years of kit car ownership. You will have fun here! 👍 plus you will learn a lot, for example just now I learned where Yarm is, a place I'd never even heard of before you joined, so thanks for the education 😂 1 1
John Whyte
Thanks Steve, Yarm is a wonderful place surrounded by beautiful twisty B roads 😉

Unfortunately I can't join you, I'm down near Bristol.
Craigieboy
Hi John and welcome. The car looks fab and Toybox have a very good rep. I'm new here too and it's a brilliant group of friendly people to be involved with. The forum has an amazing amount of information within and the technical knowledge here is second to none. I bought a completed car too, but actually found the build threads very informative and let's you know how the cars tick. Like Steve I didn't know where Yarm was either, but realised I wasn't too far away this morning at Scotch Corner! Hope you get some miles in before the weather changes and maybe see you about sometime. 1

You turn into a Pumpkin?

I don't know tbh @Craigieboy cos I'm not in Bristol, just near. I do see a lot of pumpkins driving cars going north on the M5 from Bristol though 😂

Ahh you must be in Aberdeen? Your car was discussed, it was one I had my eye on as well. Great colour scheme 👍👍

There’s a few of us a bit further north, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Washington, Durham and @tex is Teesside way. Some of us still have Westies too On 22/09/2024 at 11:04, John Whyte said: As a new owner what’s the most useful thing to know or buy? Any obscure tools that I should get? If this is your first very light RWD car just go easy on the loud pedal until you get used to it. If you plan to go any distance then a half hood is a good idea (as full weather gear tends to get steamed up in a downpour) - other than that you will want good breakdown cover* 🤣 *only used mine once in 9 years and 20k miles to be fair 😉
Ansoeb
The electric heated windscreen is amazing with the hood up, no misting in the wet, just a shame the wipers would just as well be painted on for all the good the do!

I don’t think your car was offered but it looks a cracker.
Sean Walsh
Welcome! Just enjoy it for a bit before worrying about anything else. The one fab accessory would be a USB heated gillet / jacket! Absolutely brilliant for the winter months! Enjoy! W 1
