Westfield SEIW 1.8 Mazda SDV

This car has been my ongoing project for the last 7 years it has had no expense spared and many hours of development and testing. It is road legal track car with MOT until May 2025. All the original Mazda components have been refreshed where they were used. The car goes well on the road as it isn't too stiffly sprung but is also great on the track. I have used it on the road, for track days and some sprinting at knockhill. It is very clean and a real head turner. The car is on an age related plate (not a Q plate)

It runs very nicely and is very reliable. It makes 158Bhp at the wheels and weights about 640kg (wet weight) so it is no slouch. Its a great drive and at home on the road and the track. I bought the kit in 2016 and registered it in July 2017. I have loads of other bits and pieces from its development over the years and there's probably details that I have missed. I have recently sorned the car but am happy to put it back on the road for a test drive if there are serious buyers.

I'm selling as I'm looking to buy something entirely track focused.

Do Mazda SDV cars resale for less than their Ford powered cousins? They always seem to be very reasonably priced to me.

I was wondering exactly that myself. Have seen a few these last few months and always seem good value to me.

Being a Single Donor Vehicle, they cost less to build than the “modular” kit that the Zetec/Duratec cars will be based on. This then gets reflected in the resale cost, making them good value for money.

Same goes for the Sierra SDV, although many of those will have used the very old Pinto engine and will thus perhaps be less desirable these days.

The mazda SDV makes a great option if you want to have a turbo though due to the inherent strength of the base motor.
