Nose Cone Red

Tomaky

You probably dodged a bullet there, I'd be amazed if had come close to matching.

It's okay, I get it, it probably looks enormous to you personally and is a constant annoying reminder.  Try not to let it eat away at you.  Be grateful that the car is still drivable, and just get out and enjoy it, then take the nose cone to a body shop in the winter to have them professionally fix it and pass the bill on to your "pal".  If you did it yourself and it was less than perfect (which it almost certainly would be, with respect, because you'd have an unrealistically high expectation of the quality), you'd be upset and out of pocket for the gel that didn't work and the time you wasted doing it.  When you get it back from a body shop, you'll be so pleased and the accident will be a distant memory.  Trust me.

Black nose cones go well with red tubs. So if you repair the damage, and get the nose sprayed black it should look fine.

Just for awarness this is the current state of affairs. Post repair and some polishing.

Really hard to photo the cracking on top. It has reduced in appearance with polishing will polish further later.

I've seen a contrasting colour as a band round the front of the nose/grille too.  That looks quite good.

There's a well respected GRP restorer not far from me in Bromsgrove.  Realise it's a way from you but perhaps useful as a fallback.  Here

If you do a search there are companies that do gel in a huge range of colours, generally chandlers.

This is one of the ones that I was thinking of:

Mind you they do pretty much say on their website to forget about getting an invisible match 😕

Not a bad idea I do prefer that to going all black.

Spot on for little I'm doing it may do the job. The main damage from above is a lot more subtle now it's squared up. The tiny hairline might be more a issue but I'll give it a go. I'll have a nosey shortly on the right ral colour.

Think RAL 3001 might be the closest
