The lesson the owners of the M6 Toll have never learned. Overpriced from the beginning, when they didn’t have the traffic numbers to achieve a profit, they kept raising prices which has the effect of discouraging more and more people from using it. jeff oakley Posted September 9 Share Posted September 9 Overall there is no real difference in constructing a road or a hospital this way if those in charge of negotiating were on the ball. The Second Severn Crossing was built in the same fashion but they had an agreement that once the investment had been paid for with a suitable profit it was handed back to the government, who kept the toll on for years afterward. It happens frequently in France as well with their roads and it works well. What is wrong with us is those in charge as so busy looking at the shiny models that they miss the fine print.
