Craigieboy
I'm heading back down to Englandshire tomorrow for the Great British motor show at Farnborough on Friday and then the Haynes car museum on Saturday. Hopefully the weather down there will be good and the show isn't just ev's. According to my mate, who's driving there was talk of some Kitcars too. Think we're swinging past Stonehenge too, I've never been.
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative
Do feel free to call in the Peak District if you are heading North on the Sunday, we love visitors!
SteveB21
Can’t comment on the Great British Motor Show, but the Haynes museum is well worth a visit - see if you can find the Westfield 11….
Craigieboy
Thanks for the invite, love to but we are heading back home on Saturday. Plus I'm not sure how a Toyota people carrier would look behind you all, even a posh one. More of a support vehicle, to eat any left over cake. 😆
Blatman
It's "Simply Fords" at Beaulieu on Sunday. Went last year and it was a very good event with every Ford known to man pretty much. Plus some great stands/suppliers. Maybe delay your return trip for this event too https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-ford/

Beaulieu is a lovely place and there's often a motor show going on there. My advice if you do go is to be prepared for the possibility of donkeys blocking the roads, or "donkey jams" as the locals call them, and as cute as they may be, don't touch or feed them as you'll get a hefty fine. Also expect absolutely rubbish mobile signal strength unless you're on EE as Lord Montigue won't entertain mobile phone masts in Beaulieu.

Haynes Museum is a great place, enjoy.

Not going to manage Beaulieu this time as the others need to be home and I'm hitching a lift. I have been before, many years ago and enjoyed it. Yeah I understand, it's quite expensive even although they have stolen our Scottish Stones! I'm not too fussed tbh, a few long distance pictures may do me and use the saved cash to fill up the tank in the Westy 😉

I keep planning to do it on my way to work one morning.

Calling them campervans is being too kind
Craigieboy
A few pictures from the weekend away. Weather was fantastic, however the roads were very busy and congested pretty much everywhere. That was until we hit the border on the way home, where the roads were quite and the rain started! Can't believe what Ford have done with their history. And like any good Scotsman, I held onto my money and took some long distance pictures of the Stonehenge instead 😉

Mobile phone signal was 5 by 5 on Vodafone at the museum and in the grounds. The village may be different. Road signs were very clear that we must follow the signs not the sat nav so we didn't go through any local residential areas. Got caught for a few mins behind a handful of donkey jams but no big deal. What I can report is the prices of the refreshments. I'm used to London prices but jeez... £2.50 for a can of Fanta, a tenner for a very very ordinary, very dry bacon baguette and a fiver for a "half size" cappuccino. Next time, I'm taking a flask and a picnic hamper...

No wonder I've normally take a 'meal deal' with me out on runs now. Get yourself a nice park up and have a picnic.
