PNWesty
Not sure where to go exactly so I’ll start here. Just joined, just heard about WSCC. Building an XI, saw them at the Portland historic races and fell in love. Worked thru Tom McClintock at Manik in Texas and got the ‘original’ v8 XI body and a bunch of Miata parts. That didn’t work very well so I started over and ordered a whole new kit from Tom, musta been right been right before Manik went TU. Took delivery in ‘22, spent the next 2 years in the hospital, lost my wife to cancer, and started my build about a month ago. I do have some technical questions ; steering, suspension, etc, if someone could direct me to the correct forum. Please. Looking forward to it. If there's anyone in the PNW or specifically Portland Oregon, I’d love to get together. Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset
Welcome to the forum @PNWesty. Sounds like you’ve been through the ringer a bit, hopefully you are coming out the other side now. There is a dedicated section for X cars on the forum, so best to post your questions there. We love pictures, so please do post some up, or start a build thread so people can help out as you go. https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/forum/79-x-cars/ Stu
Stuart
Welcome @PNWesty Can't help with the X1 but I've visited your fair city a couple of times (it's a bit of a trip from the UK). Two of my current fave bands come from Portland too......
Morris
Hi @PNWesty. Great that's there's another XI owner/ builder out there so welcome. Look in the 'Build Diaries' area of the forum and you'll find detailed build diaries with plenty of photos (mine is 'Morris' XI build'). The area has an index where you'll find a list of XI builds, all a very good source of information. Outside of here there's also a Facebook group called 'Westfield Eleven Enthusiasts' that has attracted international (including US) membership. It isn't so much a technical hub, but it's great for networking.
p k
Welcome to the small group of Westfield XI builders. Are you building a Sprite /Midget based car ? paul
PNWesty
Yes, it’s a spridget based build. Never messed with metric or anything British . And I’m not terribly mechanically inclined but as Jeremy Clarkson says ‘how hard can it be?’. I have plenty of resources available who have built lots of stuff and pictures are a big help. is your build complete Paul? I don’t understand why there aren’t more XIs, they're beautiful cars IMO, sexy.

Metric is just a different sized set of spanners and 1960s british technology is not that complicated and there is a lot of information out there. My build is ongoing , XI were a small part of westfields sales and none seem to have been sold in the last couple of years but only a low proportion of owners seem to be members of WSCC as well . there are other owners on the facebook group, some in the USA
