gerry Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 Does anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced right angle drive for a MT75 box? Standard Ford type circlip fitting and about 2" extension out from the box would do nicely. Quote
Rob Marshall Posted April 2, 2004 Posted April 2, 2004 Gerry Am I right in assuming you mean a speedo drive, if so I have a right angled speedo drive for a type 9 gearbox to VDO cable. I am not sure it will fit an MT75 box, but I do have one on the shelf (still for sale!! ) so could try for you. I will contact you once I have tried it. If it is suitable I am sure we can agree on a price. Rob Quote
gerry Posted April 3, 2004 Author Posted April 3, 2004 Rob, Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes - it is for the speedo. I guess that it should fit, as long as it has the circlip type fitting for the gearbox end. What type fitting does it have on the output end that connects witht the cable? (My current cable is VDO speedo with circlip type fitting - but I could always get a new cable if necessary). I shall wait to hear from you. Cheers, Gerry Quote
gerry Posted April 3, 2004 Author Posted April 3, 2004 Rob, Did you mean that you have an MT75 box for sale? I dont need the box but I do need a remote gearshift (Westfield type thing) - dont suppose you have one of these for sale do you? Cheers, Gerry Quote
Rob Marshall Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 Gerry I have tried fitting the drive to an MT75, it fits fine. The output of the right angled drive is a male thread for the cable outer, so it sounds like you would need a new cable made up, Speedy Cables are supposed to be quite good for this. I assume the angled drive is a 1:1 ratio so it will not effect your speedo calibration. If you are interested in buying my drive email me with an offer. As for gear linkages, I sold my Westfield quickshift to Andy Hawkins a few weeks ago, the standard Ford linkage will work ok. The quickshift is much nicer if you have the money though. Quote
