I do like an MGB rag top. Used to commute in one to Essex and back from Bristol back in the 80s. Hand painted brown with a brush by my mate, torn roof typically on my passenger side, no heater, bl**** freezing every time, had to wear gloves and a coat 😂🥶

And I still would love one!

Hmm, that engine!

I had an MGB, albeit a GT, with a stage 2 tuned engine. That's all I could manage - Oselli was always the stuff of dreams.

Beautiful!

Good luck with the sale!

Is there a car you didn't have in the 80's? :d

Found it @Craigieboy !

Now I know what your personal message is about 😂😂

When you are as old as me you tend to have been through a few, also in the 80s we crashed a lot, no speed cameras, police etc and the cars were pretty crap by today's standards! 🤣

I had a ton of Ford's through my younger years. Mk1, 2, 3 and 4 Escorts, same with Cortinas, my 1st ever car was Ford Corsair, 1700 V4 with column gear change. I blew it up on the M5. Also had more than one Granada. Probably loads more that I can't even remember.

Sadly the MGB wasn't mine, I was just the freezing cold passenger!

My dad was a Ford guy and then I got an apprenticeship in a Ford Dealer.

First one was a Mk2 Escort Ghia, only had it an hour and my dad made me take the rust bucket back! Second was a Mk5 Cortina 1.6, which was promptly made a 2.0.

I managed to restyle it 3 times, but fixed it myself.

I also worked for Ford but in production and manufacturing. Did a bit of time at their Dagenham, Swansea and Bridgend plants.

That must've been interesting.

We occasionally got sent on training courses, though only ever up here in Scotland and never down South. It was great speaking to the boffins who knew everything about the cars, a great insight. I remember them having at that time the one and only UK V6 Transit, which they built just for travelling North in.

Sorry, seem to have high jacked this post of a lovely MGB
