thos Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 Hi all, Can anyone help me out ? I've got a Zetec with ducted nose cone, dunno what kind of radiator. But, I'm having a problem with radiator fan. Had a problem at the last track day when fan wouldnt come on, so started checking wires and connections and got it to work again, but not sure what fixed it, all I did was fiddle with wires. So, it was fine for a couple of days, but it's gone again this evening. Can anyone tell me where the temp switch for my radiator cooling fun should be ? (I didnt build my car in case you can guess) According the the build manual it should be in the piping going to the top of the radiator. But, I cant find it - well I dont even know what I'm looking for - but there no wires going near any of the cooling piping. What I do have is a temp sensor on top of the thermostat housing going to my ECU, and one on the bottom going to my gauge. Nothing else. Any help would be great ! Thanks, Tom Quote
Tigger Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 Chances are you have a polo rad which is the standard type fitted by Westfield. Take a look halfway down the left side rear of the rad and you may find the thermo switch attached to the radiator. May be a loose connection by the sound of it? Hope that helps Tigger Quote
thos Posted April 1, 2004 Author Posted April 1, 2004 Wasnt the temp switch afterall, the car had been built with plastic electrical block connectors for the wiring to the fan, this had completley melted and wasnt working anymore, so replaced, and we're sorted now. Cheers. Quote
