Craigieboy Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Looking for a pair of the standard, factory fit bonnet catches in Black, if anyone has a set lying about. Cheers
Craigieboy Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 If anyone else is looking to swap their silver catches to black ones I've found this. https://protex.com/29-619MSBL-non-adjustable-toggle-latch-light-duty-mild-steel-black 1
itsagoodalife Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Perfect , I take it the below is the right catch plate ? https://protex.com/01-535MSBL-catch-plate-for-toggle-latch-mild-steel-black
Craigieboy Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 Yeah, I think so. I've measured both as best I can and appears identical. I've went ahead and ordered a set, though the postage was a bit expensive.
Ansoeb Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 I bought 2 different one’s hoping to pick up the same hole centres but had no luck. I just spray painted mine instead 1

Ansoeb Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Let us know how you get on with those clips, they certainly look similar
Craigieboy Posted July 6, 2024 Author Posted July 6, 2024 No probs, I'm convinced they are the same...... famous last words! Did you use the proper black peel back rivets and if so where did you get them? I've not looked yet. Thanks
Ansoeb Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Mine are fitted with the original screws, M4 button heads. 1
itsagoodalife Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I have measured these against mine and all looks like it should be , so have ordered a pair ...
Craigieboy Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 Arrived this morning and are identical. Not fitted yet, I'm still waiting on the peel rivets arriving. I've been having a terrible with deliveries from Ebay etc and even cancelled a few, however the catches are from a 'real company' and were delivered next day. 1
itsagoodalife Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 great news , mine have arrived but haven't had a chance to look at them yet , I just have some black rivets maybe I should look at Peel type now !!
SteveB21 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 @Craigieboy thanks for posting this - I've also ordered a set. Protex must be wondering what is going on! 2
evosteve Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 No need for peel type rivet, just use a suitable washer on the inside. 1

Yeah I intend to put something behind the bonnet ones, washers or a little bracket, but on mine at least there's no access to them from the footwell. 1
