Half Hood

Hi

I’m new to Westfields having recently purchased my first one from Toybox Specialist Cars and then joining the club.

I’m planning a short road trip for three days in Yorkshire with my wife and thought I’d buy a half hood from Soft bits for7’s, having fitted it I’ve noticed the doors don’t fit brilliantly under the hood, in fact the passenger door pops out about an inch.

Any ideas on this would be great, I’ve ordered some heavy duty Velcro to try and stick them together once you’re in the car.

Your solution is exactly what I have done, although I made my own half hood the same problem remains. Try and get the high grip Velco rather than the DIY shop type, I found at higher speeds the DIY shop stuff just wasn't strong enough.

I fitted  a press stud to each side of my old half hood, and a matching popper base toward the upper rear corner of each side screen for just this purpose.

Thanks guys, at least I know I’m going down the right track with the Velcro and if that’s doesn’t work I’ll give the press stud idea a go

Dave must have long arms, I tried that to start with but found reaching the forward most stud a pain, and resorted to Velcro that way I "pinch" the hood and at the same time mating the two surfaces together.

Only one stud per side, at the back of the door was enough for me.
