R Tyas Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Currently fitting my radiator and race line water rail, Will the temp sender on the water rail be suitable to switch the electric fan on, the sender is from a mk2 fiesta Quote
Kevin Wood Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 The Raceline water rail has a thread for a fan switch in the thermostat housing. If this is what you mean by sender then it should be OK depending on the temperature of the switch relative to the temperature of the thermostat in the rail (temperatures are often stamped on both these components). You want the fan switch at least 5 degrees or so hotter than the thermostat so the fan doesn't run all the time. The sender units (mountings for 2 of these) at the back of the water rail are for a temperature gauge and a coolant temperature sensor for a management system and won't work to switch the fan.
