Derby Notts Monthly Pub Meet! 7pm on 2nd May @ The Clock Warehouse

Hi all!

 

Its pub meet time again!

 

After last month's surprise award for Garry, this one will just be a "normal" meet 😂

 

This will be the last one before Malvern so plenty to chat about (cars, convoys, beer, tents, volunteers etc).

 

7pm at the Clock Warehouse in Shardlow (DE72 2GL).

 

We will be in the upstairs room as normal.

 

Forecast is looking Westfield friendly, so lets get some cars out!!

@joolz sorry you can't make sense of the info. Is this because all the pics have recently fell out or other issues? The Event team would be grateful for any feedback and we'll try to improve the info the help members attend and support this great event.

Hi Ian .. I need to re-read it all (there's a lot to take in) but from what i remember it mainly centres around only one of us is a member (since joint memberships now don't exist) .. but only members get fed ? so one of us has to stand outside the enclosure eating their own food? And how do we go about camping if not volunteering. And if we did volunteer we have only had the car 2 months so know next to nothing about the models etc so could only really do say parking directing or similar .. really need to chat with someone

Hi @joolz, we can have a chat about it. Volunteering is quite simple and you don't need any great amount of knowledge 👍

Hi @joolz to try answer a few of your queries the pork in a bap evening meal is open to Volunteers, organisers, members and invited guests, if both you guys can do a stint volunteering that's your best option 😎 nobody has to stand outside the marquee! although if its nice weather hopefully we all will be! we do get allocated a certain amount of entry/camping tickets for Friday set up folks firstly, then any remainder distributed to other weekend helpers accordingly. This will happen closer to the event and any volunteers will be notified by email. Anybody entering the show and camping can purchase advance tickets from the show organisers at https://nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/tickets/ or pay at the gate. We invite new members especially to volunteer, it does not matter how much you know about the cars its more important to come along , join in , meet other club members and have a good weekend !

I really hope you guys are going to get into double figures with Westie's in the Carpark tonight or do you need the Cheshire and North Staffs Rabble to come over and help ? 😉

 

I've managed to pull together a 5 car convoy from Stoke for tonight's run to the Cheshire meet & if we start struggling for car numbers, we may start counting cylinders 😉

What a beautiful evening for a meet!

 

This was my 3rd test drive of my new ITB's so had left early to properly stretched her legs on the local B roads. I'd just pulled up when Glynn landed in his newly upgraded car making whooshy noises!

 

The gorgeous fully forged Mazda 1.8 with a big snail.

 

 

My new ITB install.

 

 

Over the next 20 minutes we were joined by Steve and Gavin in convoy, quickly followed by James (at his first pub meet), Dan and Matt.

 

James owns the lovely yellow MX5 engined car we had spotted at Curborough at the weekend so was great to finally meet in person!

 

 

Emma, Howard, Alex, Iain, Hedley, Martyn, Dom and Ben had also come along in their tintops.

 

Shortly after Claire and Joolz pulled in sporting huge grins after Claire's recent trackday at Donington. Sounds like you had fun!!

 

 

As we were chatting, we get the amazing sight of a Westfield XI pulling in! 

 

Roger had come along to his first meet in his beautiful BRG A series engined car.

 

 

 

 

Most of us had spent that long in the car park we missed out on food when we eventually got into the pub! 😂

 

Later we were also joined by Mark, our third pub meet newbie who had recently sampled the Peaks meets with Julie.

 

As usual we had loads of upgrade talk. Iain is in the middle of an engine swap (that a few of us are helping with), James is collecting parts to supercharge his MX5 engine and Mark is already itching for a bit more power from his ITB'd Zetec.

 

 

Malvern was a big topic of conversation, seems we have load of locals going along and quite a few volunteers. Excitement is definitely building!

 

Lovely to see everyone, hope you all got home safely.

 

Also, great to meet James, Mark and Roger, hope you enjoyed the evening and that we made you feel welcome 👍
