adhawkins Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 Plus I only can see curtain avatars on the WSCC site The avatars site goes down every Saturday morning for backup. It could just be that. And who would have curtains for their avatar anyway Andy Quote
neilb Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 Make sure that your email software (outlook express?) is using the boardband connection, it may still be using the dial-up. Thia can be changed in the tools menu either accounts or connention option. HTH Neil Quote
Camel_Landy Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 Also.... Make sure you've got the relevant ports open on your firewall. 80 & 8080 - for normal web access (HTTP). 443 - For secure web (HTTPS) 25 - E-Mail (SMTP) There's a couple more but I'm still recovering from the rugby (Cymru Am Byth) The other thing you can do is enable logging on the firewall and that way you can check to see if it's the firewall that's bu&&ering things. westy Posted March 20, 2004 Posted March 20, 2004 more likely to be pop3 account so port 110 needs to be open Quote
adhawkins Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 There's a couple more but I'm still recovering from the rugby (Cymru Am Byth) Errrr....not today they weren't... Cymru distinctly dim byth. Andy Quote
Camel_Landy Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Well.... I thought they put up a fairly good fight. Still plenty of room for improvement (obviously.... They lost... ) but it was worth it to see the looks on the cocky England supporters in the pub I was in. For a while it was very subdued other than the noise come from a handful of Welsh supporters... For a while, there was also a strong smell of fear in the air... M Quote
BIG G Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Missing Avatars and other web graphics can be caused by Norton Internet Security settings...... Go to the NIS privacy control, and untick 'enable browser privacy' and the missing avatars should return..... well mine did..... GJM Quote
