windy Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 Looks a bit like Windy's motor nice..........but £8,200 I would think this is about right as it is nowhere near the spec of a "proper" group 4 car. As is states it is a drag racer also used on the road. To put things into perspective there was a good example of a group 4 Escort at the Stoneleigh show last month which was stickered up at £47,000 & went for £45,000. Last weeks motorsport news had one in Ireland advertised for £50,000. Both these cars were fresh builds with no history. It just goes to show what a bit of a revival in the old rally scene does to prices. Quote

windy Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Good shells are about if you look hard enough. Classic Ford magazine is usually a good source, but you need to look at many before you buy because there are alot of bodged ones around. I've seen a few MK1 1100's, usually being advertised by people who have inherited them from deceased family. These are the good ones with low mileage & have often been stored unused for years. £700 - £1500 is what you will pay for a 2 door, no sunroof, no rot. RS2's & MK1 mexico's command a lot of money & have usually seen better days. I'd be buying may of them now if I had the space Quote
