Marco
Hi, I’m Marco from Spain. I’m very interested to buy a Westfield. But to export a car in spain is quite difficult because I need car from the factory because I need the papers/documents that I can prove here. Any chance? Thank you ! Kingster
I’ve had a suggestion from a Spanish friend that you have a look at this https://newlifeinukblog.wordpress.com/2017/06/27/tomate-un-respiro-comprate-un-kit-car/
SootySport
@maurici is our Spanish member who's has helped members export to Spain. Not sure if he's still a member.
Andrzej
Its his blog above in the link . But its from times before Brexit I belive ? ( "Para comprarse uno de estos, hay que ir a Inglaterra, y comprarlo de segunda mano. Mientras UK siga siendo Europea hay hasta formulas algo grises para sacarle la matricula española y todo…" )
Kingster
The cars Maurici helped export were all intended to be used as track cars though…
Ewan
I have recently exported my 40 year old Land Rover to Spain. It’s quite a slow process, but not impossible. The only paperwork I needed was the invoice from when I bought it, as they can use this as a base for calculating the import duty. It’ll cost you about a third of the value of the vehicle. They arrange for an inspector to see the car, check the chassis number, etc. (Awkward for me, as the chassis had been replaced and had no number - something I didn’t know until the inspector came!). And the V5 ownership paperwork needs to show your address in Spain. Overall it has taken me a year, and that’s using a local (Spanish) car import specialist! Andrzej
@Marco - is it any way easier registration procedure when You import from other EU country ? For example here in Poland I had much easier route to register mine 2004 Westfield . Normal, not historical plates. If You can import from Poland with less complication ( did not need a COC ) maybe this could be a route ?
