Chiped windscreen

Hi

I noticed the other day whilest cleaning the Westie that there were two litle chips in the screen  .

Can these be fixed, there only very small at the moment (about 5mm).

I'm sure that there is a product that fills such small chips & prevents them spreading.

Can you do this yourself or is itmore specialist than this?

If you can do it yourself then what is the product & where do you get it from. ???

Andy

I had a chip repaired by auto windscreens that was in the wiper sweep and it has passed an mot since.

Also it wont cost u a penny  :0 not even the windscreen excess as long as u r fully comp. I found this most bizzarre but all they ask for is u to bring ur insurance certificate with u they then bill ur insurance company direct

something for nothing  u dont get that often

Had a chunk about the size of a 5p coin filled by autowindscreens and it cost around 20 pounds.  It subsequently went through MOT etc without a problem as it became virtually invisible.  Difference between an expert with the right tools versus amateur me with a DIY kit seemed worth the additional cost.

Good luck

I got a 10mm stone chip in my windscreen on the way to the MOT garage last saturday.

Luckly it passed the MOT okay  :)

I got it fixed by autoglass paid for by the insurance company.  With fully comp insurance, there was no excess and no loss to the no claims bonus.  The repair is virtually invisible apart from a small pin sized dot.

Having seen the repair carried out, with all the special kit involved, I would go for a professional repair  ;)
