Buzz Billsberry Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 Will I have to fit an Isolator key to my ignition system on my Seight for class B road going hair dressers section I read in the the blue book " An external circuit breaker to Q8 is mandatory for all cars except open cars of periods A-E section P and cars listed for road use (when it is recommended)" It's the 'When its recommended' bit that's a bit vague. I was thinking of marking up with a sticker the direction of off/on indicator relating to the ignition . I really don't want to be a putting a dead mans key on my car as its an ugly mother.Plus primarily I want to keep the car as road standard as poss plus I will be doing six rounds max this year Any help/advice Buzz Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 Dont you have an ignition key then? If so, take it as NO. Just mark the off position somehow. John Quote
Ian Podmore Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 It's the 'When its recommended' bit that's a bit vague. Means you don't have to do it, it's just that it is 'better' to do whatever is recommended IMO. Like you and many others, I just run with a sticker indicating what to do to turn to off the ignition / engine. Quote

Mark Stanton Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Cut-off switches are not mandatory for any road-going cars in sprints and hillclimbs What is mandatory is as noted a sticker on ignition indicationg "Off" direction If you do fit a cut-off switch it must turn everything off engine, fuel pump the lot Total shutdown, battery and everyfink Quote
